LIVVY Nile scored convincing victories on her two
mares Honey Bunny and Rock Bunny at the Four
Burrow Hunt Pony Club One Day Event held at Chyverton Park, Zelah.
The 18-year-old from St Day,
who is sponsored by Carharrack Animals Feeds, emerged with a clear lead
after the dressage phases securing impressive marks of 28.9 and 23.6.
Livvy began her campaign in the intro section on her six-year-old
spotted mare Honey Bunny who maintained a clean sheet in the cross
country and show jumping phases to win by a four point margin.
The 15.2hh Irish-bred mare was originally acquired from Claire
Rushworth as a complete novice and has since been produced with
care by her young rider with help from her mother Sue, Caroline
Creighton and Sue
Anderson.
The combination won the unaffiliated preliminary dressage point
winter series at Colraine
Equestrian Centre this season.
"We're really pleased with her progress," said Livvy who juggles
studying for a BTEC in Horsecare, riding horses for owners and
developing her holiday animal care service with competing.
"She's affiliated with British Eventing and I'm aiming a step-up
to pre-novice this season."
Livvy held onto her form over the bigger tracks with her
11-year-old mare Rock Bunny whose dressage score of 23.6 put the
combination into an unbeatable lead.
"I'm planning to contest the JRNs (Junior Regional Novice series)
with her this year and our first event is at Pontispool this month,"
said Livvy, who won the trophy for the best performance by a Four Burrow
member at the Pony Club Open evening championships with Rock Bunny.
"It's taken us time to cement our partnership but it's all coming
together now and I have high hopes for her this season."
