September is here already and it doesn't feel like we have had much of a summer.  Honey is now coming to the end of her eventing season as she has done quite a lot this year.  She has been placed several times at BE100, winning at Winkleigh. She went to the Pony Club Championships in Derby and came ninth with a double clear within the time. The team also came ninth so it was a great time for all. 
This weekend we are off to Pontispool for the BE100 Junior Area Final so here's hoping Honey can finish on a good note before her hols.
Lily is now back in full time work and we are trying to get her fit enough to do a Novice at Dauntsey in the beginning of October. We will then hopefully take her to Aldon for the last event of the season. We will then concentrate on dressage and show jumping for the winter.
We brought Coco in two weeks ago to start riding him but he promptly cut the heel of his foot in the field and now has his foot in a plaster cast. He is getting really bored on box rest, so hopefully we will be able to get on with things next week when the plaster comes off.
Zac is now out with his mum and Auntie and doesn't seem to miss Coco at all.  He will stay there for the time being as we have limited grazing and it helps to wean them off each other.

Livvy rode Kay Sea who is owned by Clare Sleeman to Trec Dressage last night. He was much improved on last time's scores and did two quite respectable tests. Prelim 64% and Novice 68.8% just missing first place on the collective scores.  No more Prelim for Kay Sea.
We have just had another set back with Lily when her leg swelled up at the weekend. We have just begun to start trot work after her tendon injury and initially thought that maybe she wasn't ready for this. However, it turned out to be a puncture wound on her fetlock. How she did it we don't know as she is booted when turned out and ridden.  Another visit from the vet and course of treatment as it is so close to the joint.  Her leg is now going down so hopefully we can carry on.  We have decided that the season with her is now over although if everything goes well from now we may just do a couple of Novice runs in October and then do some show jumping over the winter.
Honey is on a roll as you can see from the News getting placed in her last three BE Events and the Pony Club areas.  Her next outing is a trip to Derby for the Pony Club Champs with the Fourburrow Team.
Louis has settled well in his new home in Oxford and seems to be behaving himself.  We are hoping to go and see him soon. We miss him lots.
Woody is a sweetie who looks after me even when the other horses are messing around. He just can't understand the problems they have.
Tonight we Livvy and Honey have a lesson with Caroline Creighton and tomorrow a lesson with Sue Andersen to start working on the dressage test for the Champs. Also have Ellie coming to do teeth, not Lilys favourite but has to be done.

Livvy's delight as Bunnies hop to victory at double

We had a great run at Winkleigh this weekend. Honey settled down to her dressage and had a greatly improved score. She had a double clear inside the time.  This gave her first BE win.  We will be staying at Pre Novice level for a while as she is still quite green, but so willing and honest.

Yesterday we took Louis to Cornwall Trec Show for a bit of fun show jumping for Bethy. She did a fabulous job and won three rosettes to add to her collection.  Louis was full of it in the jumping and was quite speedy but Beth took it all in her stride.

Livvy rode Kay Sea for Claire Sleeman and had some fun.  He also won three rosettes and by the end of the evening was really enjoying himself and ready to go. He is a smart little horse and is up for sale if anybody is looking for a Riding Club horse. He moves well and has quite a jump. He has been doing endurance rides with Claire this year so is a real good all rounder.

We have also sadly decided to sell Louis as both the girls have now outgrown him. We have had him about six years now so we are extremely sad about this. He is a genuine Pony Club schoolmaster and so much fun.

Hi Everybody,
I'm afraid I've been very lax with my blogs but I'm going to try and do better.
Loads have happened since our last blog but I'll give you the gist of things.
We have a new resident on the yard. Woody is a 15.1hh Cob with the most fabulous mane, tail and feathers. He's just like a little shire. He's been loaned to me  by a friend to ride as the rest of them are far to manic for me to manage these days. Sign of old age I guess. He is great to ride, really sensible and looks after me.  He will hopefully  be escorting the babies out as well as looking after me. I will put some photos of him on the site soon.

We have decided to sell Louis. Rika is going to have a break from competition riding and concentrate on her studies. We always have plenty to ride so I'm sure she will still ride from time to time after he has gone. In the meantime Bethy will continue riding him. She is getting on with him really well and took him jumping for the first time the other day and came home with a couple of rosettes.

Honey is doing well and has now done her first BE100 or Pre Novice to most of us.  The dressage was a bit hair-raising as she added a few above the ground movements. She just rolled the second part of the double which was the last jump in the show jumping and went clear across country.  She is going to do Winkleigh tomorrow and then the Pony Club Intermediate Show jumping and event teams.

Lily unfortunately damaged her tendon whilst competing at Longleat. We were really pleased with her as she flew round the cross country. The lorry also broke down and we had to have it brought back on a tow truck. We were brought back kindly by the Parkes all the way home which we are most grateful for. It is all up and running again thank goodness.

Lily will hopefully be back in work ready for September as the scan showed it to be just bruising, so a few quieter weeks of strengthening the tendon should do the job.

Hi Everyone, such a lot has happened since I last blogged. I don't know where the time goes.  Louis has been out a bit. Bethy has taken him to a couple of Pony Club rallies and is getting on really well with him. She also did her first ever dressage test and with Rika's help did a really nice test and got 69% in the Introductory Test.  Rika then took him in the Novice class which she won.  Rika also took him to do a Working Hunter class at Chyerton in the Threewaters Show. Unfortunately he rolled a pole on the style but otherwise put in a faultless performance and came fourth. She also won the Junior Section of the Novice Derby and came home with a lovely sash.
Lily has had a few problems with some minor injuries on her legs which meant we had to withdraw from taking her Stockland Lovell to event. We were extremely lucky to be able to substitute Honey and took her instead to do an extra intro class before she does her first BE100 this weekend.  Her dressage was an improvement on her previous score and she had a nice double clear with just one and a half time faults. She came fourth and won a nice pair of Equilibrium Boots.
Last weekend we took Honey and Louis to Derby Day at Chyverton for a bit of fun. Louis jumped well but didn't get in the ribbons. Honey was one of only four clears in the 3' class and rolled a pole in the jump off coming 4th. We were really pleased that she was not at all spooky and was happy to jump everything in front of her.
Hopefully Lily's legs will be fine for Pontispool this weekend, so we shall be away with both the girls for the weekend.
